Most of us get busy in our day and forget to drink water. This vital nutrient keeps us functioning and helps detoxify our bodies. We can go days without food but being dehydrated leads to serious health problems. A lot of times we mistake dehydration with hunger and this can lead to overeating. So start drinking! FYI…drinking 8 oz of water before eating has been proven to curb appetite and aides in energy and digestion. Munch on a few ice chips and it will help you feel fuller too!
Here are a couple ways to enjoy water. Give it a try and add your favorite strategies as well.
*Buy a pretty water bottle (BPA free!) and fill it up every day to take with you. I love my bright orange Klean Kanteen sport water bottle.
*Add lemon, mint, watermelon or cucumber in a clear vase in the fridge and pour yourself glass after glass. Adding crushed ice makes it feel fancy!
* Use all natural water enhancers. Trader Joe’s has a few citrus one’s that are low in calories and can make drinking water enjoyable.
*Make herbal ice tea. Jasmine, passion fruit, and green tea are a few personal favorites of mine.
