Breastfeeding cookies

Want to improve you milk supply? Or know someone who just had a baby and will be breastfeeding?

I received these cute little cookies as a welcome baby gift from a good friend.  They taste delicious and I swear it helped with my milk supply. You can make them for yourself or to brighten a new mom’s day.  For an added touch include a box of breastfeeding tea.  

Ingredients: (See my substitution list at the bottom)

1 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoon water

2 tablespoon flax-seed meal

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup whole wheat flour and 1 cup white flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

3 cups oats

½ cup chocolate chips and ½ cup white chocolate chips

2-4 tablespoon brewer’s yeast

1 tablespoon black strap molasses

Options:

Vegan butter instead of butter, dried cranberries, fenugreek powder, chia seeds, shredded coconut, raisins, and wheat free flour can all be used as substitutes. 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degree

Mix flax in water and let sit 3-5 minutes

Beat butter, sugar, and brown sugar

Add eggs and mix

Add flax, vanilla, beat well

Add flour, brewers yeast, baking soda, and salt

Add dry ingredients to wet

Stir in oats and chips and mix well

Scoop with a spoon into small cookies on a baking sheet

Bake 12 minutes or until edges are brown
